A family kitchen named after their daughter, Ahri.

Andrew and Aena named Ahri’s Kitchen after their daughter and opened it as a family business. In September 2014, 89 backers funded their Kickstarter, and on April 28, 2015, Ahri’s Kitchen opened in the old 7th Street Deli, on the corner of 7th and Erie. It is still family-owned, and The Hoboken Girl’s tip is simple: “Order the kimchi fried rice.”

The menu

Bibimbop, Korean BBQ and handmade gimbop.

Bibimbop brings tofu, bulgogi, spicy pork or chicken over vegetables and rice, with a sunny-side egg and sesame. The Korean BBQ is bulgogi dupbop, marinated rib eye stir-fried in soy, or pork shoulder stir-fried in gochujang. Gimbop is the handmade rice roll, “rice roll with lots of vegetable and protein.” Stews come in hot pots, kimchee fries come topped with caramelized kimchi, and the house kimchi goes home by the 12-ounce jar.
