Owner story · Philadelphia
“I use higher quality ingredients because you cannot compromise on quality.”
Hendra Yong · Owner, Bleu Sushi

Meet Bleu Bot
Six years before Pinkbot, Bleu Sushi already had a robot.
In spring 2020, Hendra Yong set a mechanical arm, lit in blue LEDs, by the pickup counter and named it Bleu Bot. It lifted each bag off the counter, turned to hand it to the customer six feet away, and took a little bow. Some customers bowed back. 6abc’s story on it was picked up by ABC stations in New York, Chicago, Houston and Fresno, and in 2022 Bleu Bot was still handing out orders.
“We want to enhance our customers contact-less pick-up experience during the pandemic while implementing a little humor.”Bleu Sushi, describing Bleu Bot on OpenTable

The menu
More than 50 specialty rolls, and the signature ones are named for Philadelphia.
Arch, Race, Locust, Spruce, Pine, Lombard, Broad Street, Rittenhouse Square, Temple, Drexel, Villanova, Ben Franklin: the signature rolls carry the names of Center City’s streets and squares and of local schools. 6abc says the Temple Roll, spicy yellowtail, tempura flakes and crunchy garlic wrapped in torched black-pepper white tuna, “just might be the best sushi roll in the entire city.”
