“We’re looking to bring back that mom-and-pop feel…”
Amir Kamal · Owner, Dutch’s Sandwich Shop

Named for Dutch, the bulldog
A New Yorker’s sandwich shop, named for his bulldog, Dutch.
Amir Kamal was born and raised on Manhattan’s Lower East Side, where nothing beat the breakfast and lunch sandwiches from the corner bodega. He ran his father’s pizza shops in New York City and worked as a director of food and nutrition before opening a shop of his own, named for his late Olde English Bulldog, Dutch. Dutch’s opened on Church Street in Montclair in 2023 and came to 86 Garden St in Hoboken in February 2026, close to the train and to Washington Street. Its wall there is a mural tagged “Dutch’s Hoboken” over and over, and its sandwiches are named for songs and movies.
“I take it very seriously that every sandwich goes out the same way.”Amir Kamal, on the Greetings From the Garden State podcast, 2025

The menu
Breakfast all day, and chicken cutlets “just the way my parents used to make them.”
Dutch’s makes its chicken cutlets fresh in house every day and uses Boar’s Head cold cuts. Breakfast runs all day on toasted brioche, led by the Dutch Daddy. Then come cutlet heroes, wraps, cheesesteaks and New York-style chopped sandwiches, a Korean streak of gochujang beefsteak and kimchi, and collabs with local creators. The names are half the fun: Winehouse, In The Heights, Getting Figgy With It.
