An egg-sandwich cafe at the edge of Liberty State Park.

Eggs Up opened in March 2025 at the foot of the Atlas building in Bergen-Lafayette, just outside Liberty State Park and steps from the light rail. It comes from the team behind Buddy’s JC in Paulus Hook, Ela Greek Kitchen on Newark Avenue and, before them, the Liberty Park Diner, which served Jersey City by the park for 20 years. The doors open at 6am every day with coffee and egg sandwiches for the morning commute, and breakfast, brunch and lunch run until 4pm.

The menu

Egg sandwiches built big, and a latte for every season.

Every egg sandwich comes on your choice of bread with eggs any style, and the house builds are stacked: maple bacon on a pretzel croissant in the Big Johnston, hot pastrami in the LSP, and Buddy’s Burrito, a new take on the one from Buddy’s JC. Brunch brings biscuits and sausage gravy, Nutella French toast and avocado toast, “smashed, seasoned and stacked.” Lunch runs from chicken parm to a ribeye dip, and the coffee bar pours seasonal lattes, from pumpkin pie and toasted marshmallow to Italian rainbow cookie.
