Washington Ave at 7th Street

The corner of flavor, of memories and of long conversations.

Esquina means corner, and Esquina Cubana holds the corner of Washington Avenue and 7th Street, two blocks back from Ocean Drive in South Beach. Red flowers spill over its covered patio, and a green neon sign marks the Mojito Bar. The restaurant calls itself the corner of joy, of good mojitos and a cheerful salsa, of dominoes and long conversations, where the spirit of “Cuba Bella” lives on. It is one of the Miami Beach restaurants of First Class Hospitality Group.

The menu

Each dish is a story, every bite a step closer to paradise.

Grandma-style ropa vieja, the beef shredded and cooked with peppers, onions, garlic and red wine, leads the classics, beside lechón asado a la guajira with moro rice and mojo, vaca frita a la campesina with grilled onions, and the Cubano on Cuban bread. From the sea come whole fried Florida snapper and Paella Habanera, and mornings start with Cuban coffee, down to the cortadito that, in the restaurant’s own words, cannot be missed.
