Fifteen years of Thai cooking at 16th and Spruce.
Tom and Ann Jamavan opened Jasmine Rice in September 2011, in the longtime home of the Warsaw Cafe at 16th and Spruce. Tom had been a partner at Trio in Fairmount; Ann, a Thai-born home cook, made her restaurant debut cooking the staples, pad Thai and coconut soup. The Inquirer called it a “cute-as-a-button Thai BYOB.” Today Jasmine Rice serves lunch and dinner every day, caters with party trays and takes delivery orders on its own website. Since March 2026, Pinkbot has delivered its orders.
