Ramen and sushi in the heart of the Italian Market.

Kyushu Ramen & Sushi sits on 9th Street just below Christian, in the heart of Philadelphia’s Italian Market, with neon lights and murals of ocean waves inside. The kitchen makes six styles of ramen, the sushi bar rolls 28 chef’s specials, and there is bubble tea and fruit tea to drink. It is BYOB, open Tuesday to Sunday, and takes dine-in, takeout, party tray and catering orders.

The menu

Six styles of ramen, and every one comes spicy too.

Tonkotsu is pork broth with chashu, sweet corn, bamboo shoots and black garlic oil. Miso, shoyu, seafood and vegetarian bowls follow, and the chicken ramen is seasoned with shio tare. The Infatuation’s pick is the spicy chicken shio, which it says “will make you forget about whatever you were doing before you walked in the door.” The sushi bar adds nigiri and sashimi by the piece, bento boxes, lunch specials and 28 chef’s special rolls.
