Rooted in Hong Kong tea culture, under one roof with JiBeiChuan.

Laankee TeaShop pours Hong Kong-style teas at 362 Grove St in downtown Jersey City, in the same space as JiBeiChuan Rice Noodle & Ramen. Its owners run both, and say Laankee’s Hong Kong milk tea holds to traditional craft, making every cup with care. The shop draws on Hong Kong tea culture and modern craft beverage techniques: bold citrus teas, layered milk teas made with buffalo milk, and milks built on sweet rice brew.

The menu

Silk stocking milk tea, hand-crushed lemon teas and buffalo milk.

The classic is Hong Kong silk stocking milk tea, its tea steeped eight times for “ultimate silkiness,” served hot, iced or in a swing-top glass bottle. Lemon teas are hand-crushed with citron lemon or lime over black tea, yashi oolong, jasmine or peach oolong. Milk teas come with buffalo milk or a crown of cloud cream, fruit teas with mango, pomelo, grape, strawberry and passion fruit, and every drink from ice-free to full ice and from full sugar to none. Popcorn chicken and salt and pepper squid rings come on the side.

Since August, Pinkbot has carried Laankee’s teas from Grove St to the door.
