1835 Chestnut St · Rittenhouse
A Chinese kitchen and a sushi bar, a block from Rittenhouse Square.
Mandarin Palace has been cooking on Chestnut Street for more than a decade. Its kitchen makes the Chinese classics and a list of chef’s specialties, a Southeast Asian list adds Thai curries, pad thai and lemongrass scallops with beef, and its sushi bar rolls maki, special rolls, poke bowls and sushi burritos. Its lunch specials are a draw for the offices around it. Since March 2026, Pinkbot has delivered its orders from Chestnut Street.

The menu
Chef’s specialties from the kitchen, special rolls from the sushi bar.
Most dishes from the kitchen carry their Chinese names on the menu, from 左宗棠雞 General Tso’s Chicken to 全家福 Happy Family. The chef’s specialties run from Peking duck, sliced and served with homemade Chinese crepes, to beef with tangerine flavor: fresh flank steak fried crisp and finished in tangerine sauce. The Health Food list is steamed with no salt, oil or cornstarch, sauce on the side. The sushi bar makes more than 20 special and deep-fried kamikaze rolls, poke bowls and sushi burritos, and dessert is soft serve or 3D ice cream.
