The first Pizzeria Las Americas is a slice shop at 260 Warren Street in downtown Jersey City. In 2021 Hoboken Girl put it on its list of the city’s best pizza spots, naming its shrimp scampi, honey mustard chicken and white clam pies. Pizzeria Las Americas 2 is the second, at 301 8th St in Hamilton Park. It makes round and square pies, calzones, rolls and parm heroes, and its day starts with breakfast: omelets, ricotta pancakes, French toast with fresh strawberry and banana, lattes and cortados.

The menu

Sixteen-inch rounds, Sicilian squares and pasta al forno.

The round pies run from plain cheese and Margherita to buffalo chicken, honey mustard chicken and shrimp scampi. The square ones are a cheese Sicilian, a Grandma and a NYC Sicilian under a sheet of pepperoni. Past the pizza come baked ziti and lasagna, francese and parmigiana, Italian heroes such as La Capone and Il Italiano, Jamaican beef patties, homemade empanadas, smoothies, fresh orange juice and cannoli.
