Owner story · Queen Village, Philadelphia
“I wanted to make the bagel and the bagel shop I’ve always wanted.”
Ringo Roseman · Owner, The Bagel Place

Fourth and Queen, since 2017
It started with a sandwich at 3 a.m.
Ringo Roseman worked Philadelphia bars and World Cafe Live for years. After long shifts he would come home and make himself a sandwich, and wish he could make them for people all day. In the summer of 2017 he put his savings into The Bagel Place, on Fabric Row, with his longtime friend Leo Rahill as head baker. The shop has paid a $15 minimum wage since its first day.
“At the end of a long day, I would come home at 3 a.m. and make myself a delicious sandwich.”Ringo Roseman, to Billy Penn, 2017
