An açaí bar with a Nordic heart, steps from the Newport PATH.

The Nørth Bowl spells its name with a Danish ø and serves its açaí with a side of hygge, the Danish word its menu defines as “a quality of coziness and comfort with the feeling of well-being.” Its mascot is a narwhal: one swims in the navy ring of its logo and across its menu boards, the Blue Narwhal bowl is built on coconut and spirulina, and its jobs page invites you to “Become a Narwhal.” The shop is open seven days in Newport, a few steps from the PATH, with vegetarian and vegan options and no additives, and it caters events with build-your-own bowl and smoothie bars.

The menu

Ice Cap, Aurora, Polar Ice: a menu named for the far north.

The house bowls start from five bases: açaí, dragonfruit and ginger, coconut and spirulina, açaí with Greek yogurt, or a power base with vanilla protein. Create-A-Bowl takes one base, one crunch, three fruits and two tops. Smørrebrød comes on toasted sourdough, the oats are named Thor and Loki, the Nordic donuts are dusted with cardamom sugar, and the lattes come in strawberry, coconut and mango matcha.
